I have so many aspirations in life, one of which is to have and maintain a blog. If you are one of the few people who has read posts from me in the past, you may find that statement hard to believe. Well, the truth is, writing anything of a personal nature has never come easily to me. Even attempting to keep a personal journal has never stood the test of time for me. I get the notion into my head that, "Yeah, this is going to be awesome! I'm totally going to do this all the time and it will be so great!" Rarely the case. That being said, even though I have tried to do this blogging gig a few times in the past, I am feeling inspired, yet again, to give it another shot.
I think that one of my biggest problems in succeeding as a blogger is that I have never had a 100% clear vision for what I wanted out of my blogging experience or what I should put into it. A health and fitness blog seemed too limited for me, just like a crafting or baking blog seemed too limited; there are just so many things I want to share! So, going forward, my path might be a little blurry. Perhaps once I really get going with it (if I keep going with it), I'll have a more defined vision of what I want this blog to be. In the meantime, you will probably see posts of many different natures - I can't help that preparing healthy meals, making things and baking things are all the things I love to do most!
I think that's what life is, though - starting something broadly and working through it until you find that one thing you are best at. Right now I'm a PreK teacher with a degree in Early Childhood Education; I also love sign language, working with yarn, and making beautiful sugar creations. Who's to say I will be a teacher forever? Perhaps I will interpret for Deaf children, create a booming Etsy shop of beautiful handmade notions, or open a bakery with my future sister-in-law who also shares my passion. You never know where life will take you, and I hope that this blog will be my way of finding out! Regardless, I think a healthy belly is a good start to any journey ;)
If you happen to be a kindred spirit, please feel free to share with me! I would love to know what kinds of posts you would like me to contribute here at Healthy Belly.
Until then, enjoy a cupcake for me while you're on that stationary bike - life's all about balance!
XO Dana
